The Nature Studies Conservatory is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and public charity 170(b)(1)(A)(vi). The Conservatory serves the local community of Ventura County and areas of need within the United States and abroad. We invite you to support the Conservatory’s Harmony Project and the ReSET Healing Communities Program. Your contribution helps to provide quality services and resources to heal from adversity and trauma within restorative community co-created in altruistiatic, reciprocal relationship.

Research has shown that childhood invalidation, abuse, trauma and other life long adversity severely impacts emotional regulation and the ability to connect, feel safe, and engage in healthy relationships. Trauma and emotional dysregulation affects executive functioning and can lead to stress response overstimulation and acquired neurodivergence. High levels of cortisol (stress hormone) significantly contribute to hormonal, metabolic, and immune imbalances/dysfunction and chronic health conditions (i.e., diabetes, high blood pressure/cardiovascular disease, cancer). Affirming, healthy relationships provide support and protective benefits by helping to re-establish connection, safety, and trust; which, assists in reducing stress, emotional dysregulation, executive dysfunction, anxiety, and inflammation. Inflammation is a key factor in disease development.

Restoring Relationship, Healing Community

The Harmony Project was initiated to help nurture regenerative, altruistic connection and interpersonal/transpersonal relationship via our connection and relationship with Nature. The Natural Design: Holistic Health, Healing, and Environment model is a heart-centered, nature-informed approach to restoring relationship/community and contributing to the renewal of humanity. This research-based model embodies the knowledge of Nature’s inherent relationships (includng natural cycles, rhythms, and flows). This knowlege interwoven in ancient, Ancestral-Indigenous, and Eastern wisdoms; healing technologies; wellbeing self-practices; and relational/folk/ethno-botany is essential in remembering and cultivating our deeper connections.

Inner relationship and personal healing work are integrated with resources to facilitate holistic health, wellbeing, restorative relationship, and affirming/supportive, reciprocal community. Workshops, classes, 1:1 and group sessions, and nature-immersion retreats support healing depthwork for rematriation (healing, re-unifying feminine and masculine aspects), reclamation, and re-storying of individual, ancestral/family, and collective narrative and experience. These resources are provided to holistically nourish the spirit, optimize health and wellbeing, improve the quality of life, heal emotional pain/trauma, and offer assistance in achieving one’s full potential. Our offerings are provided onsite and by phone or online video conferencing (i.e., Zoom, Skype). The Pay-It-Forward Program and Fund provides quality, mind-body/holistic health and wellbeing resources (sliding-fee scale, free).

The ReSET Healing Communities Program and Mediation offers heart-centered, safe space and resources for recovery from adversity/trauma and restoring inner relationship. In addition to healing depthwork, authentic expression is explored while developing an aligning narrative (re-storying) with additional tools to shift ways of navigating interactions and being in relationship. Integrative groupwork with 1:1 support sessions help to heal personal and collective (conscious/unconscious) emotional pain and trauma (i.e., personal, transgenerational, cultural, historical +) as well as holistically improve community health, wellbeing, and quality of life. Individual work in supportive community nourishes the heart-soul, deepens inner relationship, and cultivates restorative, reciprocal relationships with others. This is the first of several nature-based, regenerative projects to co-create holistically supportive, community. We assist diverse people who have endured traumatic adversity, often living within underserved, disadvantaged communities and disproportionately BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color).
